Gaden Shartse is community of eleven Khangstens. Khangsten means monasteries with limited size and functions (like a faculty of University). Each Khangsten have their own administrative body, Elder of the Khangtsen is overall in-charge of enforcement of rules and regulations, while a committee of few monks looks after the financial matters of the Khangtsen. Most important responsibility of each Khangtsen is to provide accommodation to the monks of the Khangtsen.
